Divings “Lessons” Becomes “Diver Down”

My “Lessons” column has a new name.  As most of you know, I wrote the column Lessons for Life:  Dive Accidents, Close Calls and How You Can Avoid Them and sold it to Scuba Diving Magazine from 2001 to early 2009, where it was the number one rated column for eight consecutive years.  In early 2009, I moved the column to the online magazine, www.SEAduction.com after deciding not to accept a contract renewal from the new owners of my old magazine.  The old magazine is apparently having issues of some sort and felt that the name of our column was the solution to their problems.  I felt, however, what every one says and knows:  it’s the content dummy.  So rather than lowering ourselves to a squabble with a huge publisher and their huge law firm, we decided to keep the important parts of the column, the content, and change the name to make it consistent with my other safety brand – Diver Down.  See the full press release at SEAduction.com.

“Diver Down: Dive Accidents, Close Calls, and How You Can Avoid Them” is released in the first full week of each month on SEAduction.com.  An excerpt from the May release is here:
